Running a Business During the Coronavirus Outbreak

As we at SERVPRO well-know, unexpected disasters have a huge impact on small businesses. Many businesses are not able to reopen after floods, fires or other disasters force them to close their doors. This is no different during the coronavirus pandemic; local, “non-essential” Quad Cities businesses have been forced to close as we are all directed to stay at home. But for those “essential” businesses, it is no walk in the park. Precautions must be taken to protect employees and customers. As SERVPRO remains open, we are here with you in this trying time.
Here are some tips for those businesses that are still open or have re-opened:
- Encourage sick employees to stay home
- Foster a new workplace etiquette and environment: handwashing, no touch trash cans, hand sanitizer.
- Clean on a regular basis
- Talk to your employees about safety
- Limit face-to-face contact
